I've been wondering at the rate AI is developing how long until it hits a point where it can script, animate, and voice act entire shows on its own. It's not hard to imagine the radical shift in entertainment that would take place as television, hollywood, animation, and the music industry along with their streaming platforms are all replaced with a program on your desktop that creates endless shows and movies for you. You feed it a premise and it spits out a season based on it.

@minty @Jim 90% of AI is open source, most of the rest gets leaked. 100% of money in AI i chatbots for whatever use and pretty picture generation.
What's happening in the research you can see yourself in published papers, it's not going anywhere. Unfortunate, but true.

@Jim @white_male you dont know what anthropic or google or openai are working on behind closed doors, no matter how arrogant you act.

@minty @Jim I know enough. Any breakthrough would be immediately obvious, we're talking evolutionary leaps of ability, the same that brought around said chat bots and picture generation. Any new AI tech would be distinct and self evident.
You keep missing the point of what they might be possibly working on versus what's already achieved, i'm talking about the latter.

@Jim Only couple AI geniuses away. We still don't have many intelligence building blocks, like memory for example and nobody is really researching it. Industry is maximizing on chat bots and pretty pictures.

@Jim @white_male what do you know about what each of these companies are up to? Lol. You have no idea what theyre working on secretly right now.

@PinochetsCommieCopter @Jim The problem with automated stuff like that is that if it could even coherently make up something as complicated as a video game instantly, balance is a bitch
Making up a fake story, lines and actor is way, way, WAY easier on the scale than that but the issue right now is having a coherent product and it being able to make videos and make it 100% coherent and we're still really far from this currently

@Jim This but video games,i don't think it would be too hard for an ai to make an RTS game where just till it the theme and what kind of units etc...
