   It is so easy. LOL. Before binary packages in Linux and Unix, it was common to do `./configure && make && make install`. In fact, I have an old page with over 250+ comments about readers' struggles to install such packages because of dependencies. https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/install-tarballs/

     This procedure is now primarily hidden from endusers due to Dockerfile, binary packages, and newer formats like snaps and others.

     @nixCraft that last "make install" step IMHO is a big part of why many Linux users just put "sudo" in front of any command when it returns an error...

     @nixCraft it so hard to compile, so difficult to understand what is missing and why compile failes. Can't imagine how to keep apps up to date if I must compile each version of them!
