     doesn't matter you didn't pursue him. because you drew your weapon but didn't fire, you were "not in true fear for your life" and brandishing weapons is illegal in all circumstances.

     maybe i'm paranoid but i just can't trust people to not chimp out on command
     
     but its not like i want to kill someone in my house, i'd rather put the fear of god into them and they never come back, but again if its them or my family its 110% gonna be the invaders

     I'd prefer to not have to kill anyone in my house even with self defense. If push comes to shove I would do the needful, but it's not something I spend a lot of time thinking about by choice. I do wish boobie traps were legal, but that's another story.

     you can also just get a conversion cylinder for the steel frame big irons from taylors, and there's a couple companies that make great 45 colt. and they are a joy to shoot
