   @noe @mia I make game engines from scratch, have ported a programming language to the SEGA Dreamcast among other things with inline SH4A assembly.

   I didn’t need a degree to do that.

     @mia @LunaFoxgirlVT this one dropped out of high school, started programming a lot before that, and made a full and very fruitful career out of it.

     you need to build shit to get good… so go build whatever. try doing stuff that already exists, try doing stuff that doesn’t exist, try remixing what works, and breaking what’s broken.

     there are almost no actual limits to what you can mess with. want to run a fedi server on an Xbox 360? you can fucking do that. want to make your own git? why not!

     you get skill by doing the stuff. do the stuff. we’re rooting for you. it’ll be great.
