i'd like to make some statements (i know, spooky)

before my break from fedi, tensions were quite high and things were quite heated. a situation that should have been handled easily turned into a massive controversy. that controversy and the stress it caused was one part of why i left, but i also felt that my use of fedi was becoming unhealthy. and about that situation: it's quite obvious that eve is a manipulative piece of shit. eve, if you see this, i am in your walls, and i am in possession of a firearm. this opinion is completely uncontroversial. it's what happened next that caused our conflict.

eris disqordia shared this story to a large group of people while it was still being resolved. this got in the way of resolution and further hurt the victim. people from outside of the community, who had no reason to get involved, were getting involved, and this hurt my friend. this is why i was so outspoken about eris' involvement. and to clear up a misconception i saw, the involvement of eris did not lead to any consequences for eve. eve was removed from 0w0.is after autumn's statement condemning her (post before eris) and was removed from snug.moe after jade's statement (delayed due to concern of suicide, not influenced at all by eris). i am not aware of any presence of eve on the fediverse, though i am a full week out of date. the consequences for eve came from within the community, not from outside influence.

and another thing. i do not appreciate the accusation that i was defending grooming. i get that it was a heated time, but that was entirely uncalled for. i have to deal with the consequences of having been groomed, having been lead to posting compromising pictures as a minor, and people using that trauma against me because i told someone to go away is a massive overreaction and incredibly immature. turning petty drama into me defending grooming is dishonest and harmful, and i honestly expected better from you.

but i will also admit that i also overreacted. i acted way too aggressively during the incident and should not have attacked eris as much as i did. tensions were high and the situation triggered memories of past events that have happened to me. im sorry. i will try to control my emotions more during these times to try to prevent further controversy. i don't want to cause conflict. additionally, to my followers who have seen some ablist tropes or comments from me or the posts i renote, i am sorry. i am still unlearning these things, and i appreciate the user who reached out and talked to me. i am FPing you so hard rn for that.

now, the next thing that i saw some controversy around. i occasionally interact with a user by the name of errante. my interactions with this user have been interpreted as support for every action they have ever been accused of doing. talking to errante beforehand, they assured me that they are against grooming. why would they have to do this? well, it's time for some nuance.

errante is a pedophile. this isn't an assumption - they publicly talk about it. it's just a part of them. and that's the thing. pedophilia - that is, an attraction to minors - isn't something someone can control. it's like a rash or a cancer. what i focus on is the things that pedophilia can push people towards - grooming and sexual assault. i wish for grooming and sexual assault to be minimized as much as possible. the way i see it, i am attracted to many people who i do not rape, and my (possibly overoptimistic) hope was that at least one pedophile could do the same. at this point, i don't know if errante is a groomer. i would like to speak with people regarding this, because i haven't had enough context to form an opinion. i try not to form an opinion without proper knowledge of a situation.

with all that said, i am happy to finally be done with my break. it was a nice time away, but i did miss all of you. it really reminded me just how lucky i am to have friends like this. i hope to take over everyone's timelines again with the worst posts ever federated by a catgirl.
