     hmm. CPU and GPU temperatures are fine, but the system temperature is... weird. sometimes spiking to 79C. That would be clearly bad, except it also likes to jump back down to 50C

     so maybe the problem is that my motherboard has become homophobic

     @cleeus possibly? I checked all the voltages when this was last happening, and I also replaced my PSU. I guess my motherboard could still be bad, though

     @foone Any idea where the temperature sensor is on the board? Does your board have an actively cooled chipset? I have an X570 and it runs hot enough to require active cooling via a small fan.

     so I'm doing some encoding of the gay porn again, and my system temperature sneaks up to 80C, then a second later it's 69C (nice), then it drops to 42C a second later.

     So maybe when I said last-time that my system didn't have temperature issues, I was wrong, because apparently one of my temperature sensors is smoking crack
