The difference is so vast that it resembles an ethnic divide..because it originally was. The Normans were never overthrown. They vanished as a people, but their descendants still dominate the upper classes and transmuted their contempt for the anglo-saxon into a contempt for the working classe whites in general.
   
   Thats why it doesnt bother them to see their countries overrrun with the detritus of the old empire..in their minds, bantus, brahmans and moghuls are no different from the anglo-saxons.
   
   This quasi-Norman elite carried its contempt into the colonies. And passed it on to immigrant strivers, who absorbed this contempt and synthesized with their own attitudes.

     @Dan_Hulson @Yurt_Dweller @Glow-Squad-Nwah @lichelordgodfrey Gentically yes, but not culturally. The Normans either destroyed or exiled the entire Anglo-saxon nobility and basically erased much of its cultural structure. They then imposed a class system on the UK that placed the Anglo-Saxon at the bottom.
     
     This class system is built into everything..even the language. French originated words are much more prestigious..Kingly as a opposed to Royal for instance.
     
     Anglosaxon words like Shit are vulgarised. Its why you eat Beef, instead of cowmeat or pork instead of of pigmeat. The Anglo-saxon commoners raised the animal, and used the Germanic word, but the Normans ate the meat, and used the Norman word.
     
     Its teh reason why the british never developed a prestige cuisine despite the fact genuine british cuisine is quite good. Prestige cuisines are developed in the palaces of the nobility and in England the upper classes ate French.
     
     This class divide is one reason why the politics of the English speaking world became so bizarre and allowed the Jews to take over.
