   OK so this is the first MNT Reform Next prototype/functional mockup. The goal is to get a feeling for the new form factor and potential performance and to make progress on the iterative design process.

   The bottom half is 3D-printed (multi jet fusion) while the top half didn't work out in print, so it's actually MNT Reforms top half! The keyboard, trackpad, display and hinges are real, but they connect to wires that go out of the back to a RK3588 development system.

     we will bring this proto to #37c3 tomorrow so you can check it out.

     here's a video of minetest running on the proto. this is using bbrezillon's midstream kernel and panthor open source mesa driver.

     @as400 @AsahiLinux recycling electronics is surely interesting but that would be a different project. i am more interested in open hardware currently, where people can contribute to the electronics design etc in git. apple hw doesn't even have public schematics. but if the physical dimensions fit somehow (idk), someone could hack that.

     What if there was a possibility to buy used macbook air or pro with smashed screen or case and reuse it's internals in Next ?
     That would be hell of a laptop.
     @AsahiLinux has great support for most of the crucial parts of hw already.
