     It's all fine and dandy for you if they censor something you dislike in translations, but they will just use it to justify their stupid censorship.
     
     The best option is to just translate and adapt everything the most faithful to the source as it's possible to do, and start killing anyone who tries to insert their bullshit in translations, regardless what's the bullshit

     that's why i think translations should be as close as possible to the source material regardless, that way everyone is on the same page in regards to possible issues they may find in the writing of a game :ina_nod:

     @rlier23 Disagree, because Vivian is just another Birdo situation, it's not political, it's just Japs being Japs, which works fine there even for kids apparently, but in the West you're just gonna confuse the kids and normalize shit that has no business being normalized. Said kids much later learning the truth and going "WTF, Birdo and Vivian are actually dudes??" was a better outcome than them becoming familiar with concepts like Femboys before even hitting puberty.
     
     It's basically the kind of stuff localizers SHOULD be doing with kids' games, the issue nowadays is that they localize Japanese content to make it compatible not with actual Western values and Cultural sensibilities, but with the values and sensibilities of Satanic GloboHomo subhumans.

I also absolutely support the original Vivian retcon in Paper Mario: TTYD's localization, some forms of Japanese weirdness just have no place in the West when it comes to a game that strongly appeals to children.
