     He was a CIA backed leader. One of my friends spent time in Chile, and told me the woman she stayed with was in total denial. "Oh those people just left the country; traveled North" even as bodies were still being discovered in the 2000s.

     I mean, there's a source in the wikispook page. It is The Guardian 😩 .. but it is back from 2006 .. I mean it could be propaganda, sure .. but it seems more likely that a CIA backed head of state would traffic cocaine than he wouldn't. :blobcatshrug:
