@ezio as long as you don't have that machine online, it's alright :neocat_thumbsup:
-
@allison @ezio @getimiskon @atlas That reminds me how I used to scan machines with open radmin access (I think it was bundled in a bunch of repacked Windows ISOs a-la FuckYouBill/ZverDVD) and mess up people's computers.
-
@atlas @ezio @getimiskon 9x is actually relatively safe (lol) these days, but nt5.x opens a ton of ports and services by default which give it an extremely broad attack surface and unlike other operating systems of similar vintage, due to microsoft's commitment re: backwards compatibility, such machines are still actively sought out by attackers to compromise for botnet nodes and the like
-
@getimiskon @ezio what exactly is the danger of running outdated things on the Internet precisely? sure, if you do outdated web browsing you're probably asking for trouble, but apart from that I really don't get why "9x/XP/Vista/7 online = BAD THING, you WILL get virused"
-
@allison @atlas @ezio @getimiskon Still have the utilities pack assembled by anons laying around. I think it even had some virus on its own, in ipgeobase.

Do I want to know?
-
@allison Apparently it makes a bunch of folders with random supplied files on victim's desktop (furry porn is just an author's suggestion).

@mint @ezio @getimiskon @allison @atlas >open radmin access
why was that even done???
-
@mint @ezio @getimiskon @allison @atlas is that really the price for downloading a ready made windows repack instead of making your own?
-
@lina @ezio @getimiskon @allison @atlas Indeed. Same as with MediaGet RAT that some anon used to mess with people on livestreams a couple years later.
