   @condret @PraxisOfEvil "WTF", why? The UN seems so far genuinely useless as far as I've seen currently and it's a bunch of countries playing pretend bureaucracy over there. Nothing is ever done, nothing is ever stopped. Saudi Arabia was elected to UN women's rights commission, Anita Sarkeesian went there to go cry. The WHO completely failed the pandemic response and the UN is still bothering Japan about "violence in manga against Women" when Japan basically told them to go fuck themselves
   
   Is there genuinely anything at all going on over there? I've been asking this for years and nobody fucking seems to knows. It all just seems like a massively expensive circus

     @coolboymew @PraxisOfEvil @condret It’s a framework more than anything but they do research and gather data, and they do have some money.
     A lot of their stuff is more important for small/poor countries. It’s not at a scale that looks impressive to Americans but a couple million goes a long way in some of these countries.

     Is there anything even good at all that happens out of these massive hearings? Why is the US allowed to Veto this shit at all? What's the point?
