   For a meeting I asked the "getting to know you" question of "what fictional world would you like to visit?"
   My wife overheard my answer of "Star Trek: the sickbay. Ever since I was a kid I wanted someone to wave a beepy thing over me and figure out exactly what was wrong and know how to fix it" and she suggested I could have instead answered one of the worlds of my favorite author, what's his name? Charles Stross?

   No. No, he's not that kind of author. I don't want to visit any of those.

     @cstross yeah that was my thought too! As long as you're not actually in the glasshouse, and you don't get caught up in a censorship war, it's probably the best option.

     @foone There was a post on r/startrek a year or two ago where someone asked “You get transported to the future but only get to stay for a few hours, what's the first thing you do?” and 99% of the answers were “First thing is go visit sick bay.”

     @kboyd that actually immediately came up, because we are a company full of geeks.
     I pointed out that I'd wanted to do this ever since I was a kid, so at the time the only options were Crusher or McCoy (or Pulaski, which... No. ) and I had more trust in Crusher to actually get me fixed.
     I then joked that I COULD pick Bashir now, but he'd probably be too busy flirting with Garak to actually cure me.
     But yeah: others said The Doctor. A good second choice, IMO
