     @D-Droid AFAIK there’s zero confirmation, people are just inferring that it was likely a woman because the P-8 was the subject of a heavily “diversified” pilot group. The navy just doesn’t have that many frames that tolerate female-level incompetence.

     @Paultron @D-Droid It does, but high-performance fighters and heavies are demanding in different ways. Figthers are forgiving, you can be a little sloppy about your power settings when you’re coming in on a precision approach because they spool up quick and give you solid control over your speed

     Heavy stuff with a turbofan or low-powered engine requires you to plan a minute into the future, you have to “be ahead of the plane” as they say, and that orientation trips up people who aren’t used to it. You can’t just come within 3 knots of stall, put in 60% throttle and get right back up to speed like you can in a fighter.

     The first picture I saw of the crash looked like they really broke it.
     The longer it takes to identify the crew, the greater the chance of diversity.
     Do we know the name of the pilot who slid the F-35C into the South China Sea? Over a year ago.

     @Paultron @D-Droid IDK if it’s just the older ones but they have a ton of launch tubes on those, used to have a hedgehog looking system to drop the sonobuoys. Might be a bay now like this
