     @Eiswald I have seen this from both sides of the generational divide IRL. I’v e seen fathers cut off their sons (and later reconcile), and I’ve seen sons cut off their fathers.

     Sometimes it’s been deserved, a young man chopping off the gangrenous filth of his clan before it can reach the bloodstream of his nascent family. Others are less righteous, fathers cutting off their underperforming sons thinking that his failures in life are the result of laziness more than opprotunity.

     The sad thing is that this whole estrangement collective incentivizes it. There’s a whole cadre of people who LOVE the drama of cutting family away. It’s the hard choice, the final choice that proves them right or die-hard for whatever cause they pursue. We’ll be seeing a lot more from all sides.

     Plus ability to monetize drama, the dictionary cult defoo mentality of a lot of predatory online groups (troons especially), dopamine junkies on social media, etc.
     
     There was an interview 10+ years ago of a dead student's classmate, his actual quote was "I didn't believe he was dead until I saw it on Facebook". Meatspace is genuinely not reality to some any more.
