   How are you getting custom emoji into the search box?

   If I type custom emoji it produces the word code surrounded by ::, and that doesn't work in search.

     Ahaa... it looks like you just need to type the text without the ::

     By default the custom emoji don't have spaces in their alt text, so the colons : mess it up if you try to search for a custom emoji directly.

     But if you remove the colons the alt text alone works.

     Interesting!

     It works. I typed :anarchist_flag: which has the code : anarchist_flag :

     The top search shows someone with the flag in their name, the third option is me, and I have the flag in my bio.
