   @aral @laura I tried to run kitten, but the port 80 is in use. I have tried to figure out who is using the port and kill that process, but it seems like it keeps being hijacked when I kill them.

   It sais that the process using the port is named site.

   I'm using Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS.

     @craftyguy Hey Dan, further to what Clayton said, can you also type “site status” into terminal and see if you see anything. I wonder if you were also playing around with Site.js at some point and ran it as a daemon. If so, “site disable” should do it.

     (Of course, it could be any other daemon/app called “site” but it’s quite a coincidence.) ;)

     But in order for me to learn from this, I'll ask: How would I have approached this if; Say that it wasn't the sitejs tool?

     Should give you what’s listening there. In this case, you know it reappears when you kill it so you know it’s likely a daemon – unless it’s malware or some sort – and given you’re on Linux with systemd, you can do:

     systemctl status site

     To stop it:

     systemctl stop site

     And to disable it (so it doesn’t automatically start at system start, etc.):

     systemctl disable site

     Just pecked this out on my phone so apologies if there are typos, etc.

     @vegafjord Ah, don’t run Kitten as a daemon yet :) I haven’t tested that and likely not even implemented it fully. Just play with it in dev for now (so “kitten”, not “kitten enable”. Though you’ll have to “kitten stop && kitten disable” first).

     @vegafjord No, sorry. Trying to avoid one on purpose. I want to get this right, even if it takes a bit longer.

     That said, I would be very surprised if it wasn’t up and running in the first half of this year.
