     @GabeLakmann I always hated those, there’s something so feminine and threatened about being all wound up when you see someone stealing “your thing”.

     That’s what it is, at the core. They wrap it up in all this nonsense about respecting the dead, but in reality it comes from their own upwelling of “hey asshole, I’m WAY MORE badass and tactical than you and you don’t see ME strutting around bragging about it!!!“

     I used to like watching those "stolen valor" videos where they bust people out doing that kind of thing. The stories they made up were great.

     @GabeLakmann I really dislike guys who react that way. It’s very effeminate and I saw it a lot when we entered the UMC bracket. In the rich kids’ town, their dads would always spin on their heel when they heard about someone horning in on their pet identity.

     That's correct most if not all of the time. You don't usually see people who have actually seen and done stuff making a huge deal about it. It's usually some guy who was a cook or truck driver that wanted to be special forces hassling the guy who also was a cook or truck driver that wanted to be SF or never even joined in the first place.
     
     I've busted some people out at bars before but didn't make a huge deal about it. Usually I only did it if they were lying to women about it to try and get laid because I think its really cheesy to do that kind of thing.

     Some dude killed himself after these people dogpiled on him and I felt really bad for him. They should have got him some help after busting him out instead of pushing him to suicide.

     I got to live on both sides of the monetary rift, learned quite a bit about the diff echelons of society that way. The richer people’s dads way more frequently had that nervous, feminine thing going on where their identity was closely intertwined in being some type of guy, if another horned in on their turf they’d get all confrontational in that catty fem way

     “oh yeah? You play guitar? I play guitar too, my band published 3 different albums actually, did you guys ever make anything I’d know?”

     @GabeLakmann I still surprise my woman by being happy for people’s success. It’s silly, other people’s success doesn’t detract from mine. Finding people in the same sphere is just another node in my network to reinforce my position anyways. Why get defensive? But, my identity doesn’t ride on any of my hobbies/jobs so

     “oh that new family has a guy about your age, he works at jetblue I think”

     “aw that’s cool he made good time then”

     I really hate that passive aggressive shit like that.
     
     The wealthy people I've met have been about half cool people who didn't act snobby or pretentious and the other half were shitbags who looked down on people.
     
     I'll eventually end up surrounded by wealthy people and aside from being able to pay for my family and help out other family members and friends if they need it I really don't care about money. I'll reward myself with a fun car or a race car and *maybe* a cheaper airplane or helicopter (unless renting/leasing one is better) and aside from that I'm going to spend the rest helping Whites in my community.
