   I will delineate a new boomer archetype for you all, after having a few of these conversations with the over-50 crowd (*spiritual boomers can be any age, mind you*)
   
   Maybe I'll call him the "Movie Boomer", or the "TV Boomer", but they share these traits:
   
   - They LOVE watching tv and movies with most of their spare time. They like doing so just a little more than sports
   
   - They began picking up on the increasing faggotry of mainstream media years ago, but doggedly continue to watch everything without stopping
   
   - As quality has slid, they have fallen into a pattern of watching meta-media ABOUT the zogslop stuff that keeps coming out, spending just as much time watching videos about how unpopular/woke marvel movies are than they did watching the actual movies
   
   - They LOVE these mainstream, algo-approved channels because "THEY TELL IT LIKE IT IS", without realizing it's just 2014-era wokeness and progressivism with a light veneer of "quality media"
   
   - They will probably never realize the silliness of the griftosphere's comic books, coffee sales, or kickstarters being just as low quality as mainstream zogslop brands.
   
   -As long as it markets itself as anti-woke they embrace it wholeheartedly, no matter how progressive it really is
   
   - Their stances on sane, normal limits on degeneracy and debauchery have largely melted away unnoticed. TV Boomer will tel you "I don't LIKE gay marriage, but whatever they wanna do in private is...." or "well good on them if the gays wanna adopt and have a traditional family"

     Now I’ve always been irritated when speaking with this same type of guy in the younger half, but they’re different because they get spun up over video games. At least their rough proximity to gamergrape stuff gives them a tad more awareness of the nig/fem/jew questions

     The older guys are a particularly tone deaf type of rube who thinks they have it all figured out. What they have in common is that they fail to grow past the hate-watching as a hobby. They’re content to support the zogslop media machine with their tickets and viewership as long as they’re watching it “ironically” or to endlessly dissect the media in a 12 hour postmortem stream

     @eee This guy in particular is hliarious because he owned and operated a comic shop in san francisco, and it only JUST got “too woke” for him in 2020

     He was chill with everything up to that point, and he’s supposed to be based. Uh….huh

     @WashedOutGundamPilot That's the average boomer. Every boomer loves to pass his time watching nostalgic media, grandstanding about it (and making money from that) is a generation's dream.

     @anonaccount Nostalgia is an improvement on these guys. The ones into this stuff have burned themselves out on everything somewhat good from teh past. That’s why they’re discovering new media - after the 100th rewatch caddyshack just doesn’t hit the same way

     @PunishedD @eee True, but that just goes to show he isn’t this strident ideological figurehead that the audience pretends. He believes in every democrat/progressive tenet in the platform, but these guys act like he’s some right-leaning fellow because he wants better marvel movies

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @eee I'll offer a mild defense there. When you sink your own money into a business like that, you hang on as long as you can. You don't have the luxury of tuning out of culture at the first hint of subversion, when your revenue is literally dependent on selling it at volume and customers are still buying.

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @YTFoidLover1488 @eee There's literally nobody to GIVE any shit to Gary at this point. Hollywood doesn't know about him, the comic distributors can't cut him off now that he doesn't have a shop, and all the woke crowd he tears into are toothless social media harpies. The only group that can harm him is YouTube, and they're fine with his brand of non-offensive anti-woke critique. I watch some of these guys for background noise, they're fine for what they are. I don't begrudge them their entertainment shows. Gary in particular is really well-versed in comics history, so if you're a lapsed fan it's good to have him doing the critique of new stuff. But I also don't understand why anyone would treat them as revolutionary or super impactful. They're simply in sync with a disgruntled portion of the audience for pop culture. At least Sargon went out, ran for office, and had food thrown at him in the streets. No one from Gary's shows are going to do anything beyond making videos with algorithm-friendly thumbnails.

     @PunishedD @YTFoidLover1488 @eee Well to old guys who’ve never seen anything more extreme than the “fandom menace” (intensely gay name) they seem like downright dissidents.

     My YT backgrounder kept falling into them on autoplay no matter how many times I said “not interested” or “don’t show me this channel” so I’ve long suspected they serve a true purpose as dangling keys for guys who may eventually end up pulling their heads out the sand.

     What bugs me is that they do have the raw materials to make a passable show, if gary would just find the right cohost….but they let that charmless goblin woman worm her way into everything and shit it all up. They can’t just have a hangout for nerdy white guys to pal around - they GOTTA make sure they have some racial commisars in the form of a black or woman present to keep them from building up too much fun momentum

     @WashedOutGundamPilot I think habit is the main culprit. It’s like my coworkers talking about how baaad starfield is as they doggedly go home every night to play it for hours.

     It’s like they’re hunting for an iota of fun that they once experienced playing skyrim when they were 10. I assume movies are the same way with these boomer types.
