>plus isn't it customary to just exclude cheaters and fraudsters from history instead of giving them even more spotlight?
???????
It's impossible, because Billy already got a significant of undue fame, and money, from him cheating. That's the entire fucking point of these videos and exposing the grift. Nobody cares about the nerds speedrunning Super Mario All-Stars, but Billy got significant fame and he's using his wealth to court bully on top of this

@hj @taylan @coolboymew dude addressed this exact point a significant chunk of the popular videos are not related to anything like this, it's just excitement over speedrunning stuff. i've even seen a couple of the non cheating videos myself they're equally as fun to watch.

@coolboymew @kirby @taylan billy yes, but Taylan's account is that Jobst got chunk of his popularity talking about fraudsters in general, which is what I am mostly talking about here. Billy is a special case tbh, and yes it is unavoidable, which is why people tend to avoid talking about cheaters in general, as talking about them ignites discussion and controversy, which in turn can create positive feedback loop, in which subject gets more attention than better things in life and better people.
It's like internet trolls - you feed them - they troll you even more for more "food".
