     @jihadjimmy @dushman @ipg encryption kept breaking in that group and the clients are nightmarish compared to chad IRC clients that are just TEXT the way TEXT chats were meant to be

     - Dino (buggy since 0.4.2, featureless GNOME soyfaggotry)
     - Gajim (python piece of shit, kill whoever developed that buggy pile of horseshit)
     - Psi+ (decent, a little clunkyesque and has some annoying routines you have to do that probably have a way around them but i dont know what they are, also encryption is impossible in group chats)
     - Profanity (good idea, shit implementation, good luck managing a contact's 23 undeleteable keys with COMMANDS)
     - Conversation (pretty decent, but phonecels only)
     - there is nothing else that is good even though the protocol has existed for over 20 years and most of the current options (5) are Shitesque

     @lina @meso @dushman @jihadjimmy Akschully the best solution would be to simply encrypt to the whole room represented by a key, but there's no implementation like that because the logistics are hard. Authors of XEP-0373 (OpenPGP for XMPP) were toying with this idea potentially using a GPG extension to distribute subkeys to room members.
