     Block and mute are there for you to curate the things you see. You can have a high threshold for that, but you can't have it both ways.

     Tolerance is a good thing. It promotes diverse thought and understanding. I may not like what a paedophile has to say about why molesting children should be okay. Though if I can read through their thread then I might gain some insight into why it is they feel so strongly about it.
     
     That's why I don't block people. It's a slippery slope that leads to liberal brainrot and associated degeneracy.

     @7666 @dcc @Maholmire @genmaicha I thought ryona.agency had some sort of workaround (mentioned in their about page iirc, but idk the details and possibly I misread that paragraph)? I dunno, maybe you're right but my point is that you really can't account for what another server will or will not do, sometimes out of spite, and short of a null route, you don't have lots of options.
     The message passing protocol is pretty good at passing messages and you have to get drastic to stop them flowing.

     @dcc @Maholmire @genmaicha blocks are only gimped on fedi cause you can't enforce them both ways, so I'd be open to them just being gone, and everyone muting instead. Hell, you could rename it if you wanted.
     No guarantees the other server will comply with your request.

     Nullrouting on blocking side isn't effective either, since nothing stops me from routing the requests through different proxy.
