     @WashedOutGundamPilot @BigDuck @Royper the premise is an elf coming to terms with her long life. she's living so long that her partymates grow old, die, and are replaced. at one point everyone's reminiscing over their adventures and she goes "but it's only been ten years". it seems like a good time, not to mention that a bunch of old anime vets (like Shinji Otsuka, best known for Akira and who hasn't made anything new in 24 years) came out of the woodwork to make this, and the director of Bocchi is leading the team.

     @bleedingphoenix @BigDuck @Royper Everyone always has such a weird, childish take on this whole thing like that. They always want to play young forever instead of being the wise old tree overlooking their pet family.

     Humans raise 100 generations of chickens, looking forward to seeing a little bit of their grandparent’s in the new hatchlings and appreciating the bloodline in the aggregate rather than the individual. A sufficiently long-lived person would end up looking at things the same, feeling like the faces pass but the souls return.
