*they measured the efficiency of viral spread* ie the infectiousness
it is *obvious* to the authors that viruses exist because it's causing infection, and it's testing as such. What's *not* obvious is how much infectiveness there is, which is what you were questioning upthread. That's what they measured.

you are skipping the fundamental premise and jumping to how infectious are they when there is zero science showing they are infectious
