@coolboymew Yeah, I just saw that JP version was a thing so I decided to download and give it a try, I had no idea it was out. Feels good to be back :aquaWotagei:
(Also ngl I saw your screenshots before but never put together that it was SIF2 til now, I thought it was All Stars lol)
@nyarlathotep All Stars closed a while back. The EN side is pissed as fuck because both closed around the same time and we have N O T H I N G Love Live to play now, it's really dumb
@nyarlathotep Loved All Star. It was more of an RPG disguised as a rhythm game. Super hard songs you really had to make your team in a specific way to beat them
We actually got an exciting story that mattered, at least, until they nerfed it because they went too far during Lanzhu's arc, and the Yuu character self insert was great
Otherwise, still no SIF2 in English and we know jackshit about the Hasunosora girls because we don't have that app either. Apparently it's some sort of vTuber thing??? There's cards too??? I have no idea what's going on there but they aren't even bothering translating the hours long story segment on the main youtube channel so that's pretty freaking lame
@coolboymew Wait, for real?? That was short lived... I was never able to get into AS bc I didn't like the dumb stamina mechanics, but it feels weird to think there's not really any active EN stuff for LL anymore :beatoPout:
@nyarlathotep Yeah, but it was comfy and avoided some of the shit most RPG gatcha had. Seriously, the Shioriko and Lanzhu arcs were exciting as fuck. Plus new idols?! We were getting over 9?!?! Damn man. Only sadness is that I expected it to finish with Yuu being an idol but it might have never happened
As for Hasu, yeah. They have their own app, Link! Like! Love Live!
This is the reason they'll never bring it: https://www.lovelive-anime.jp/hasunosora/system/ Really, it's a vTuber live and meet app, making it extra awkward. But still, they still have songs, so completely ignoring the EN audience is extra lame, they could at least fucking translate the story segments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCPSPtDQiso Literally like a dozen of these ranging from 30 mins to 2 hours
Nobody has subbed these last I know either
Otherwise Love Live's popularity seems to be fading in the west. A lot of it lived because of S1 memes and it ending up being the face of CGDCT anime. I'd also chalk it up to early 2010s with official streaming starting to become a thing and following seasonals being a thing that became more and more popular and easy
The issue is that they didn't made it easy to follow all this shit. A lot of Love Live information is relegated to Japanese magazines with 0 official translations. Seiyuus live youtube thing, also, with no official translations after the fact. Also lives, which as far as I'm aware, even if they were shown in cinemas here, only 1 was ever officially translated, and it was a SURPRISE. SIF1 and SIFAS being very late to the Japanese servers, and the catchup period they eventually did was awful and now they're making the same mistake with SIF2
@coolboymew Yeah, that's why I couldn't get into it -- I don't care too much for RPGs, I'm much more into rhythm games so I just stuck with SIF occasionally for my LL fix
>we know jackshit about the Hasunosora girls because we don't have that app either
Yeah I was perplexed as to who tf those songs were from, I've NEVER seen them before so I had no idea there was another LL spinoff. It does kinda feel like they're abandoning the EN fanbase OTL
@nyarlathotep I was super lucky to find the Snow Halation Rin Neso I wanted in the last con this summer. Still had Puchiguru (a japanese exclusive LL Nesoberi app that died like 3 years ago) branding on it (there's actually a private server lol)
@coolboymew Oh man, I forgot how hard they used to push puchiguru back then…
The neso craze was real, I remember showing up to the delayed viewings of the Aqours lives they used to do downtown Toronto and people were just walking around with the HUGE nesos if they had them
