     this is how i've felt for a long time, pokemon designs have almost all been terrible since black and white. no one says it out tho loud because it causes nintendrones to chimpout.
     
     outside of litten, regional variants and 1 or 2 others i cant think of a single pokemon design i like that isn't 17 years old, i'm surprised there aren't more companies capitalizing on hole left on the genre now that every pokemon game gets a 2/10 user score.
     
     i mean maybe there but good ones that just never get popular because most poke fans just have an autistic fixation on the nostalgia, franchising and popularity rather than the actual animal collecting?

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @RealRaul You make the assumption that fandomfags that have children grow out of it. Also usually the kids don't have an interest in it or bow more to their peer majority than anything else. I've already seen this with 50-something metal guys doing podcasts. They have kids but the kids ain't interested in dads old stuff.

     @RealRaul I wish I could find it again, but I remember an interview with one of the Pokémon lead artists, in which he was asked his design philosophy when it came to monsters.
     
     He said something along the lines of, "No matter what it looks like, it has to look like it could be your friend."

     @mrsaturday @PurpCat @galena @RealRaul I liked Gen 7 but Gen 6 sucked. Gen 8 had good human character designs but otherwise sucked, and Gen 9 I don't give a fuck about. Now they just churn out cheap knockoffs of existing Pokemon and call them Iron Whatever. That shit even turns me off of the competitive meta. Yes, I need to fit Iron Ass onto my team so I don't get swept by Iron Dick, these are high quality Pokemon names and designs.

     @PurpCat @RealRaul Plus modern Pokemon's human character designs are all focus tested corporate slop designed to lazily chase the newest trends in an attempt to appeal to the most people as possible. It's painfully artificial and forced, and people still fall for it. One of the new characters is literally a vtuber, just because vtubers are popular, and people eat that shit up
