after seeing all the fuumo propaganda, I decided to try again 2hu games. @poopernova , I prefer rpgs (I know, I know) any 2hu ones which are not bullet hell? I just want to level up Marisa :cirno_shrug:
@lilianabreeder idk Most official Touhou games are bullet hell, there are a bunch of official Touhou fighting games though and a lot of doujin games that I'm not too familiar with. I mostly prefer Mystia's Izakaya though, comfy cooking and restaurant management game
@lilianabreeder@poopernova Touhou Puppet Play and Touhou Puppet Dance Performance are both Pokemon-like games for Touhou. @HellRavenMatingPress recently finished and reviewed a spin-off based off of Shin Megami Tensei.
@lilianabreeder@poopernova Labyrinth of 2hu 2 and Artificial Dream in Arcadia are the only 2hu RPGs I've found worth playing so far. Anything else must be either obscure even for me or is just not very good. As consolation, I'll suggest Touhou Ibunseki ~ Ayaria Dawn. It's Monopoly but 2hu, and it has Marisa.
@lilianabreeder@poopernova 2hu suggestions time? Puppet Dance Performance as said earlier is really good. Touhou Luna Nights is great for a metroidvania fix, very minor bullethell mechanics in there too. New Super Marisa Land is a really high quality Mario styled platformer. Yoiyami Densetsu - The Legend of Twilight is a very high quality Zelda-styled game based specifically off Link's awakening, starring Rumia as the main character. Touhou Rhythm Carnival! Scarlet is a nice Rhythm Heaven inspired one, probably one of the most polished fangames out there. Komeiji Satori no Jousou Kyouiku is a cute puzzle game involving the TH11 cast, also the game where the Orin dance started. If you have a switch, or are willing to emulate, Touhou Spell Bubble is a nice rhythm puzzle game featuring tons and tons of really great doujin music (though the DLC costs are also typical rhythm game level, the base game tracks are still really good). Links for any of these not sold on modern storefronts can be found at https://moriyashrine.org/ most games don't have too much config needed to set up beyond possible japanese locale options.
@lilianabreeder@poopernova Wait, the fool I am. How could I talk Touhou Games without one of my favorites. Kubinashi Recollection is a really good puzzle platformer starring Sekibanki and her many head tricks. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1635980/Kubinashi_Recollection/ And I didn't see it at first, but if you're looking RPGs specifically, Genso Wanderer is a nice one in the mystery dungeon style. Both Gensou Maroku and The Genius of Sappherios (Weekend/V for expanded versions) are games I've heard a lot of great things about as RPGs, they have decently sized playable casts too. Touhou Mother is there as a bit of an odd one, kinda suggest it but do know it's a bit of a ride being a RPGmaker crossover fangame between Mother and Touhou. While not all of them have patches, the Gensou Shoujou Taisen games are really good takes on Super Robot Wars. And one more for personal taste, Three Fairies Hoppin' Flappin' Great Journey is a cute little fairy RPG, featuring an unhinged battle system of fairy programming
@Iffine@poopernova Incredible. I can see your passion for the Touhou series. Where did you got your first interaction with Touhou? why do you like it so much? Now I feel like I need to test all these games!
@lilianabreeder@poopernova First interaction? Can't really say, at least 10 years ago, possibly more. Saw some footage of the original Marisa Land and some other ones, started seeing more and more of the girls with funny hats, and just kept falling more and more into loving the series. Stuff like reading through the wiki and descriptions of characters, checking out random doujins, playing the games, hearing the amazing arranges just keep me in. ZUN's series of pure cute retard girls with silly hats and very poorly thought out abilities has such a great hook. But I'll refrain from splurging out too many thoughts and feelings, just that I love the series. :flan_love:
