@nozaki I do know a local guy who collects watches, but I don't need to go that expensive. I should hit up the local tailor to see if I can get it fitted better. It does make my broad shoulders more apparent which looks nice, but not being able to put my arms up sucks.
@Rwoeidk@NotImportant@nozaki Last time we talked about buying someone bought a hamilton khaki, that was a good fit. It really comes down to budget & heritage, what you want to have, how often to wear, and whether you want to keep it forever and pass it on.
Diff purposes/pricepoints make it too hard to recommend. I started out expensive and slowly sold them off as I needed money, lost the desire to keep a lot of high-dollar stuff b/c servicing is painful on them. I think the $150-600 bracket is somewhat ideal because a good pick may hold value & appreciate, while being cheap to maintain and long-lived for your kids.
@NotImportant@Rwoeidk@nozaki Compared to my frens I’m the “cheap ass”. One saw my pick the other day and asked “what chinese POS is that?”
IDK if there’s much that’s classy in the sub $50 range aside from standbys like the Casio Duro? I know modders like cutting their teeth on these because it’s the usual diver look at a fine price. Even Swatches, the ol’ disposables, are like $150 now. https://www.casio.com/us/watches/casio/product.MDV-106-1AV/
Hell these are $60 now? I thought they were 35. yeesh. At least they have a lot of colors
@WashedOutGundamPilot@Rwoeidk@nozaki I don't need something amazing. Even a $150 suit puts me leagues above most of the people I'm around. Just looking good is the goal.
