   Given the situation with #Bandcamp, perhaps Funkwhale might be a basis for an alternative controlled by artists/collectives?

   (I'm not a musician so I don't know how good a fit it is for artists and bands, but hopefully it is useful in some way.)

     You don't need to be tech savvy if you use a managed hosting company, they do all the tech stuff behind the scenes.

     @feditips @funkwhale i have hopes set on Funkwhale. in my case i don't feel tech savvy or economically available to create my own server, but i would help with P2P for sure. this could be like a "streaming SoulSeek", imagine having all that freedom to listen to music with open source technologies 😍

     Was it on a particular server, or lots of different servers?

     If it's just one server, might be worth asking the server admin if there's some problem specific to them.

     They've been taken over by another company and sacked half the staff, many are concerned about the direction the site is taking.
