@coolboymew@shitposter.club@ChristiJunior@detroitriotcity.com nintendo doesn't control them as much as other devs but given how badly pokemon has been shit on publicly i think they've had enough and expect all pokemon content to halt for a long while
@coolboymew Nintendo doesn't fully control them. They obviously go along with and maybe even endorses the Pokeshit garbage game dev practices because the games are so damn successful, but they themselves sure as hell don't treat their flagship series (Mario, Zelda, hell, even Metroid) that way. People specifically blaming Nintendo for modern Pokemon being garbage are unbelievably full of shit.
I used to love Pokémon as a kid now that I'm older I find myself completely uninterested in the newer titles and the newer monsters feel like simpsons post season 11.
I should sell my sealed steelbook of sun and moon i bought 8 years ago. I'm never gonna play it and I didn't care for the version I pirated much on my old 3ds.
The franchise is fun for kids and I got some fond childhood memories around it but seeing 30+ year old manchildren on youtube COOMlecting cards and scalping merch meant for kids bugs me deeply.
@mona@ChristiJunior@coolboymew yeah Nintendo doesnt own the pokemon ip outright and cannot exert their demand for a high quality product and QA oversight over the other shareholders demand for fast and periodical slop Add in the competency crisis and diversity hires and here is what you get In reality gamefreak were always a mediocre at best dev gifted a very marketable IP and the assistance of skilled individuals like iwata
@mona@ChristiJunior@coolboymew i think the notion that it is franchise fatigue is wrong though Long running rpgs like disgaea final fantasy and dragon quest consisently turn out high quality iterations despite their age
Pokemon is just now made to be junk food Play it thriw it away and get excited for next product
@mona@ChristiJunior@coolboymew red and blue were buggy unremarkable rpgs outclassed by its contempories of the time The aforementioned aspects and its availability on handhelds made it a hit when it would otherwise be a dud
@ChristiJunior@Vidmastereon@coolboymew@mona but you get my point, pokemon if released outside the windows of those obscure japanese monster games came first, or DQ monsters, pokemon would be another japanese obscure title left in the 90's
@Vidmastereon@mona@ChristiJunior@coolboymew well get ready for DQ to start die in the gutter like a dog pathetically once 12 hits and and knowing how much the "ethics department" has on cuck enix
@Vidmastereon@mona@ChristiJunior@coolboymew Pokemon Gen 1 was very innovative, especially in regards to player trading and battling. Eventually they moved away from the exploration and social elements and just focused on the surface level elements. I suggest watching the GCCX interview with Tajiri
