     And then the FAA, at that point also staffed by affirmative action diversity, determines the crashes were acts of voodoo gods and even the tremendous competence of everyone involved was unable to avoid it.

     @monsterislandcolonizer I’ve met a couple of white ex-military ATC guys in other shit sectors of the industry filling trucks, doing office work, all because they couldn’t pass the FAA’s “personality assessment” that basically selects for brownoids.

     The only reason we haven’t had all sorts of crashes so far is what the old timers call ‘big sky theory‘, there’s enough room in 3 dimensions that everyone’s got a giant buffer

     @Twoinchdestroya @monsterislandcolonizer Most don’t even look outside even when they’re ostensibly VFR. It IS really tough, I only happened to luckily spy a growing dot in the distance when we almost had a head-on in my early career. Uncontrolled field and an old man flying NORDO upwind into the downwind leg is a great recipe.

     I was the junior kid at the time and the cap spun us when he broke and overcorrected

     @Twoinchdestroya @monsterislandcolonizer He just panicked and snapped it over. we got about 2.5 rotations before he snapped out of it and we had to spend an hour on the ground waiting for his shakes to go away. Guy was freaked, called his wife and all.
