cons of living in america: despite paying a higher(!) percentage of their cash to the government americans are deprived of things such as adequate housing, healthcare, cities etc. everyone in this place is stuck in some sort of retarded mindset or another, and any reasonable person avoids "politics" like aids. less literate than canadians, an infamously book-avoidant bunch, and addicted to everything the founding fathers told them to avoid. being an empire has degraded society to the point a nuclear war would result in a net increase in pro-social behaviour and IQ. evidence that God exists and is a bastard, because there is no other explanation for their continued federation
pros of living in canada: healthcare (everyone has a mediocre hmo), people (erroneously) think you're less retarded than americans, the monarchy, lower income tax
cons of living in canada: the average canadian is a poor motherfucker who pays about ten percent extra on every purchase thanks to the federal sales tax, and a simp for authoritarianism to boot. canada's "constitution" already has the "notwithstanding" clause, which basically states the government can do what the fuck they want as long as they pretend to review it later. Additionally, the RCMP are a nightmare amalgamation of FBI, ATF, DEA, and the local police who, like the catholic church, regularly rotate abusers to other regions to avoid prosecution. the CSIS -- NSA/CIA combo -- has legal authority to spy on anyone, anytime, for any reason. how this fucking place has not gone fascist already is anyone's guess. Alberta is the paypig for this confederacy of dunces and (reasonably) has decided separatism is a good idea, as has the main recipient of their involuntary generosity, quebec. unfortunately, neither province is grounded in reality, as separation would immediately lead to annexation by the us. Albertans are special enough to believe this would get them what they want when in fact they would immediately be divvied up into north montana and north north montana, with their shitty tar oil nationalized by the US and sucked clean by exxon while they have to deal with the stupidity of the rest of america. Quebec, on the other hand, would have an economic crisis that would make Haiti look like Switzerland.-

Isn’t euthanasia in the top 5 leading causes of death now, with doctors encouraging hundreds of people to end their lives instead of continuing treatment?
But yea, everything else for America and Candanavia is fairly accurate. I had a lot of hope for the Trucker Protest. I hope we see something positive with the uprising in Brazil, but I know it’s very unlikely.
At some point, The West will buckle … and it won’t matter if you’re in America, Canada, UK, France or Australia … when the global empire falls, it’s going to take everything with it.

djsumdog (djsumdog@djsumdog.com)'s status on Tuesday, 17-Jan-2023 03:51:22 JST djsumdog The world is a lot more connected now. The USSR had their own computer architectures, their own (very brief and unsuccessful) space shuttle program. Today all the designers for the two most used architectures (x86/arm) in computing live in pretty discrete areas. The actual chips are often produced in overseas factories (although Intel/TSMC are working to add domestic US capacity). Japan and Korea might be able to pick up a lot of slack, adding domestically the gaps they lose internationally, but much of the rest of the world is highly dependent on global systems of trade to keep their infrastructure running. It won't be like when the USSR fell due to the crazy interdependence the world has now. Ironically, the sanctioned countries like Cuba and Russia might be in the best shape since this position requires more independence.
