I'm not convinced the Israeli government is that altruistic. I think that they have a deep state just as we do. I think that their motive for destroying Hamas is not simply to protect Israeli citizens but has wider/deeper implications.

Israeli citizens should be protected from harm and death by terrorists.

But does the Israeli gov truly have that as a top priority?

I'm not buying the "Israeli intelligence and operations failure" narrative.
