@rysiek I agree, although the bar for using an addon is much lower than for sending a pull request to a source-code repo. I just don't think there are enough of us right now who want to discover an RSS feed while browsing a web page — most people seem to rely on the search inside feed readers (which is its own problem).

Having them signaled directly in the browser would make people learn about RSS/Atom in general. Which in turn would perhaps lead people to question the apparent orthodoxy of following publications only on social media.
Which in turn could lead to a more healthy Web. Which is something Mozilla at least pretends to care about.
