@olmitch@pyrate then again, baltics are just larpers who try to larp as non russians, but i digress basically idk where im going with this but 95% of internet nazis and internet communists have slightly more than absolutely nothing to do with said ideologies in the grand scheme of things
@olmitch@pyrate i have blood memory of my family living just fine in the soviet union, just like how my further ancestors lived just fine in the imperial times i think one thing that people misattribute to the soviet union is how the non russian states ended up suffering because of the system, but as far as i'm aware despite the centralisation, there was still a hefty amount of autonomity, so i guess it's no surprise when baltic higher ups are incompetent because they're baltics
@pyrate yea, just the result of identity politics being mainstream, you slapping on swastikas and other labels like that doesn't make you a rebel against identity politics, it just puts you on the opposite side of commies and other shit, it's basically just tribalism but without any blood memory and other actual reasons for it
@pyrate that's something i believe myself, symbols are something that comes and goes, but it is better to come up with your own symbols instead of copying symbols of a dead 20th century regime, otherwise you're really just trying to parrot instead of making something of your own thing is that as long as you have your own approach to things, even if you take inspiration or have admiration for a ideology or regime of the past, you will never end up trying to be a copy of it
@lina I have pretty valid reasons for approaching this hill. I would not exactly call it slapping on a label. I try not to associate with symbols - this is a path of downfall. In part I do have a strong sense of identity, but this country removes that element from many of us. We live alienated and highly introverted lives as a consequence for technological prowess.
The left kept calling everyone they disagree with nazis and so at some point you just start accepting it, like how Obama embraced the term "Obamacare" even though it was meant as a negative thing
no it's when you intentionally change the meaning of something. I suppose one example is how gay used to mean happy. Ironically, it appears "they" have code switched the term code switch. https://www.betterup.com/blog/code-switching
Code switching. It's a powerful thing. Think about it, what happens when someone starts calling you names on the playground? If you act like a bitch, they treat you like one. If you embrace it, you become a legend.
> It's ok to be weak. Correct, it's okay for _you_ to be weak fat albert. I've got a lot of land to conquest and many wives to satisfy. We are not the same.
