     @D-Droid @IAMAL_PHARIUS I hate silver because I bought it like, 15 years ago when I was in HS and it’s hardly changed at all from teh amount I paid for it.

     Guys have really put a lot of hope into it and I think the market is too shitty to every get 1:1 value out of it in a time of need. Look up that old venezuelan interview, they at least had some exchange rates of their own.

     In my experience, Silver’s best used for IRL bartering w/ weird libertarian types. You can get a mild discount on a gun, maybe, since the owner will want silver more than fiat. But for bills? Good luck, seems like all kinds of fees and slippage cut into it to the tune of 30%

     @D-Droid save cash heading for the next year, sounds bad due to inflation but throwing it into anything will mean you lose even more money when you liquidate it.
     
     however if youre rich and have no big expenses, bitcoin and physical gold bars.

     @D-Droid @IAMAL_PHARIUS Yeah, that’s why I got it too, but everyone saying that hasn’t ever tried to actually barter with it. They’re pretty rosy on it. If everything collapses, WTF are you gonna do w/ silver rocks? It’s a heavy ass liability, something that will only be useful when things calm down and start rebuilding in stability.

     If you’re dealing w/ people secure enough to keep it without worry, then cool, but I don’t see there being a fort knox branch in every town willing to trade antibiotics for silver coins at face value. I think you’ll take a wash that will make you wince every time.

     If you want something you can actually barter with that will maintain it's value buy a bunch of packs of cigarettes or travel size bottles of vodka

     @synapsid @D-Droid @IAMAL_PHARIUS Yup, I’d much rather have vices or bullets than silver. IMO ammunition seems to be the best crypto/specie we got, in terms of affordability. Never seems to go down, either.

I was kind of hoping my parents would at least get to cash out some retirement before shit went off rails I thought we'd have until 2030 but I guess the idiot kikes that okay'd Ukraine spending just cut America's financial collapse short by 7 years

     @D-Droid @IAMAL_PHARIUS Who knows, maybe my problem is that I don’t have enough to deal with the big boys who would offer a lot lower rate. If you had to survive, and you had like, 5,000 ounces on hand, you could probably find a large dealer willing to take it off your hands for 2-5% fee. Working on the bottom end of the economy is where everyone’s really screwing you.

     Also it’s just tough w/ the fakes. Lots are leery of doing trades because of fake chink silver. But you WILL get lots of trade offers for worthless car parts, old ass equipment. Put up an ad looking to sell 1,000 oz and you’ll have guys trying to trade you old cars, tractors, guitars, etc.

     some bet US has 3 trillion usd of reverse repo to bring out collapsing commodities and crypto.

     Alot of countries are unable to get usd to get banks to issue LCs to settle international trade as of this month.
     
     Ive never seen it this bad. Some global south countries are limiting sectors from using dollars altogether. focus on food and energy.
     
     US seems to believe they will come out of this alright as always.

     Why not do a universal bailout? Convert this uh….five or fifty or five thousand trillion dollars into government debts and pay everyone’s bills at the same time? People will probably be genuinely dumb enough to play along for a while
