DadThis Steam Sale reminds me of something. Around 2012 my Dad once asked me what a "shmup" was, since he saw me talking about them online. He didn't care about any video games except Pong, so I said "do you know Space Invaders?" and after he nodded I said, "Imagine games that expand on that concept. Faster ships, better guns, more types of aliens to shoot."
He understood, but if I had showed him a Touhou game or Mushihime-Sama, he probably would have had a heart attack.
It's the only game G-Rev ever published on Steam. While the concept of Strania is cool I really wish they would've ported their other games like Under Defeat HD and Border Down. I mean luckily we can emulate those games with NullDC but i'd kill for a PC port of those games even more so now since Under Defeat can only be physically obtained stateside on the PS3 where the 360 version got a Games on Demand release and the 360 store is shutting down at the end of July next year.
@noyoushutthefuckupdad I guess none of the big major studio shmup games that I don't own already are on sale but there's a few smaller indie ones / older shmup titles that are on sale that are pretty good
Radiant Silvergun will be a nice one to add to the collection. I got it for Xbox 360 but it's Backwards Compatible with the Xbox one. Sucks my arcade stick won't work on xbox one unless I get some $50 adapter... It's dumb considering the console has a USB port and Xbox One and 360 both use Xinput natively. I could see the argument for wireless accessories since the 360 and xbox one controllers use a different frequency rendering them incompatible with eachtoher.
Radiant Silvergun is supposed to come to steam too at somepoint but the release date is TBD
