   Interesting piece by Carole #Cadwalladr on Yanis #Varoufakis’s latest book, “Technofeudalism: what killed capitalism”.

   Maybe #Technofeudalism is its latest reincarnation rather than the end of #Capitalism, but a good term nonetheless to describe our age. Just a shame that neither Varoufakis nor Cadwalladr seem to have made it to #Mastodon yet (maybe not even left #X? I don’t know) - maybe soon

     @pvonhellermannn It was personally an eye opener for me. Made me realise that replacing one insular hierarchy that thinks it knows best with another isn’t necessarily a long-term win when we have non-hierarchical alternatives.

     I haven’t kept up with what they’re doing today. I’m entirely uninterested with holding a position of power within any hierarchy, regardless of where on the political spectrum they purport to be. I’m happy working towards enabling non-hierarchical futures.

     @aral thank you for sharing this. Really dispiriting to read, and quite something that you already went through all this in 2017. What are your thoughts now - it looks like even now Yanis and others in DiEM25 are still happy to use technofeudalist platforms?

     @pvonhellermannn @aral that's a really good open letter, really constructive and clear. Thank you for setting those things out. Unfortunately a lot of supposedly radical groups don't apply this radicalism to themselves because, as you say, this would mean a loss of control for the kinds of people at the top of a fan club.
