@ChristiJunior Results for this poll are off by two, someone made two throwaway accounts (@Guy112222 and @Guy11222) just to vote for Patchouli in this poll.
Not that it's really going to matter on fedi, I mean, one of them is a pokeyman and the other is a 2hu so I figure it's a landslide.
- Machismo repeated this.

@p @ChristiJunior @Guy11222 @Guy112222
It’s about ethics in fedi polling.

@p @ChristiJunior @SuperSnekFriend curl -H "Accept: application/activity+json" -v https://detroitriotcity.com/objects/0eec4c7f-e47c-4350-a552-e300e2ab64c6No need to ask as long as fetches aren't signed. Doesn't tell you who voted for what, but should be good enough for figuring out the fact of manipulation itself.
-
Fucking why? :jahy_disgust:
Why would they threaten a recount just for two extra votes?
-
@SuperSnekFriend @ChristiJunior Prolly the same guy that made throwaway accounts on FSE to vote in some VTuber poll on Poast. No telling how many other instances he did this from, but the easiest way to check is to have 313 or verita84 pull the list of people that voted and discard votes from accounts whose only action was to vote in that poll.
-
@mint @ChristiJunior @SuperSnekFriend That *is* useful. Thanks.

@Griffith @ChristiJunior @SuperSnekFriend Mint just posted a curl line, this is apparently public information already. (I thought you had to trawl the DB for it.)
Someone should make an "electionobserver" bot that watches the public timeline for polls and then reports as a reply when the poll ends (or once a day for long-running polls) to ensure free and fair elections on this fedi verse.

@p @ChristiJunior @SuperSnekFriend Is it possible to do this for all polls? We could get rid of alt voting (to some degree).
-
@p @Griffith @ChristiJunior @SuperSnekFriend I believe @laurel has already tried to cook a script that would periodically recheck the object and deduct who voted for what from its changes.
-
@mint @ChristiJunior @Griffith @SuperSnekFriend @laurel Ah, that's cool.

I did make one. The votes come in immediately but sometimes there is a delay in the object updates so it's a bit inconsistent. You'd get the usernames for the last 1-3 votes all at once.
I also think @p 's idea is good, we should publish the list of those who voted after the vote ends.
