@51rH0n3y84d93r @aj Yes, so are these "post offices" just empty shells? They are specifically in the constitution for a reason and the reason was for sending and receiving mail. Is it supposed to happen by magic?

Competition can fill the need while still being constitutional.
I'd argue your point is similar to demanding a state-ran grocery store. How are people supposed to get food without the state?

Moon (moon@shitposter.club)'s status on Wednesday, 20-Sep-2023 07:31:57 JST Moon @51rH0n3y84d93r @Johncdvorak @aj the post office remains relevant because there is a duty to service every part of the country including parts that would be totally unprofitable for private enterprise. I feel like you're in a losing fight on this, the post office is one of the few things you can absolutely show the government has the power to do, is definitely good idea and still relevant, and even works pretty well when republicans aren't conspiring to kill it with accounting tricks while taking lobbying money from fedex cool_boy_mew likes this. -
SirHoneyBadger (51rh0n3y84d93r@noagendasocial.com)'s status on Wednesday, 20-Sep-2023 07:31:58 JST SirHoneyBadger @aj @Johncdvorak not to get too pedantic, but it's the internet, the USPS is not mandated, but post offices and roads seemingly are. See the Cato article that suggests it can be better privatized. Ron Paul had mentioned this in the past with allowing for competition with first class mail: https://www.cato.org/blog/us-postal-service-constitution
But good discussion, I learned more than I ever wanted to about mail and the fact the post office and roads are in fact mandated.
