  Immaterial and Missing Power is her intro, though it's a fighting game rather than a SHMUP. All three fighting games (IMaP, Scarlet Weather Rhapsody, and Hisoutensoku) have single player modes, which might be easier than the mainline games. No, you won't be counted as a true primary, but at least you could say you beaten an official Touhou game.
  
  The most recent mainline, Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost, has Suika as a playable character, and I heard that this game was on the easy side.
