     They did this because it was easier to arrest the girl than it was to track down the child predator, and all these fucks really care about is their quota, cops are the laziest scum suckers on the entire planet, protect and serve? You mean I have to do work?

     Clearly the child predator is the victim here. He was just innocently sitting in a discord chat when all these underage children just tried to seduce him.

     I think parents like this are kinda dumb. I’ve heard about this a couple times, where the head-up-ass parents find out that their kid was sexting with perverts online, and they let it upend their entire life. They freak, expecting everyone to be totally shocked like it’s 1990 and you can expect to live without teaching your kids wariness towards perverts.

     But no, they end up dragging the police into it, going through months of shit, reinforcing the ‘trauma’ by throwing their kid into this gauntlet of cop scrutiny, even endangering their fam should there be some libshit who thinks they’re abusive for putting restrictions into place to guard future internet access.

     They’ll never find the pervert anyways, they’ll maybe - MAYBE try to use your kids nudes as sting material against other pervs, but then you’re just giving the government license to own and distribute your kids homemade child porn. It’s just an insane, retarded process to me. Unless the perv is in state and you know who it is, you’re just making the whole affair into a gigantic deal in your childs mind, saddling them with all kinds of emotion and ‘trauma’ to fixate on throughout their life.

     Just teach them about the lay of the land, tell them they screwed up terribly in doing that, and be more involved in monitoring them. Last thing your kids need is 40 hours of stressful cop interviews and a case file hanging over the family forever.

     I need to ask for an update, I know a guy whose neighbor is into this process, and he said that he’s tired of hearing the case updates about it. The guy’s spent weeks of time dealing with the cops, supposedly because some pervert was soliciting dick pics from his kid 2y ago. He said it had been more than a year since the parents reported it to the police, and they were still having to go in for interviews, give account access, and getting nowhere.

     If it’s getting boring to listen to for bystanders, imagine being the kid. Sorry, you screwed up and now you have 500 hours of high-stress state intervention, snooping, judgement, and intrusive social workers trying to break your family apart.
