     traditional publishing is dead, it's being dragged along by a bunch of aging authors who were already established in the 90s and nobody with talent is replacing them because all of the publishing houses are run by cat ladies
     
     there are plenty of indie authors who are good but they're not easy to find in the giant sea of shit that is indie fiction. only going to get worse with AI

     that seems like more a consequence of western fantasy and scifi being dogshit, not that, anime doesnt have plenty of good scifi and fantasy, but it sure would be nice ot have some good western fantasy again.

     The "anima and manga" section slowly devouring the scifi and fantasy sections which basically don't exist anymore.
     I wonder how many LNs and manga they actually sell, the store always seems fully 100% stocked.
