Racist Jimmy Buffett (jimmybuffettfanaccount@poa.st)'s status on Saturday, 09-Sep-2023 02:11:30 JST Racist Jimmy Buffett Naruto, as a whole, is terrific, even if some of its constituent parts are unimpressive. -
Racist Jimmy Buffett (jimmybuffettfanaccount@poa.st)'s status on Saturday, 09-Sep-2023 02:11:29 JST Racist Jimmy Buffett I’m speaking of its quintessence, not it’s qualities as a media product. The manga is a good media product, but the quintessence of Naruto is millions of young boys playing pretend in a mental state defined by powers in their blood, bequeathed to them by their ancestors, and honed by hard work, to be used in defense of their blood and land against traitors, foreigners, and homosexuals. “Terrific” is underselling it, it’s incomparably prosocial. The only way something could be better if it was aesthetically rooted in European/Aryan folklore and artistic traditions instead of Japanese, but that’s a quibble, and it’s the next best thing anyway, honorary and all that. Hollyjollytailspike (monsterislandcolonizer@poa.st)'s status on Saturday, 09-Sep-2023 02:49:31 JST Hollyjollytailspike Naruto is odd because they character himself should be venerated by the village but because Kishimoto is a hack he's spurned instead. It's a really obvious retcon when it's revealed that Naruto's father is the 4th hokage who sacrificed himself and his wife and low-key sacrificed Naruto by sealing a demon inside him to save the village. -

"Your parents are loved and respected heroes who sacrificed their lives for us and you yourself carry a burden inside you, we hate you actually."
"Yeah this kid has an apocalyptic monster inside him let's abuse him anyway"Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks likes this.
