   If she were smarter, she’d recognize that her special treatment is rare, and not handed to her by any merit. But she’d dumb, so she plays the part of the arrogant sheboon to perfection.

     Checklists are gay but that outward-facing heart is an important thing to have. Nobody likes the type who just walks past a full garbage can.

     It’s just whoever sees it, people really blow it up into a big deal.

     There’s a streak of that adage, “if you want something done, ask a busy person to do it“. When you have momentum, everything is easier. You just see tasks and complete them. When you stagnate, then the trip to the garbage seems an insurmountable task and you tell yourself that the others in the home can handle it instead.

     Just having people who are willing to work results in everyone taking care of things wherever they see them

     This type of stuff will make me walk right past the garbage can.
     Can you just grab a new bag when you see it's getting full? I changed it after dinner last night and went to work. I come home and it's stacked over full. If I take the bag out, it's going all over the floor. I will feel bad for "making a mess" and one of us will be forced to clean up garbage off the floor. This is a waste of everyone's time just to be petty. If you can't figure out how to tie one end of the garbage around a cabinet hinge or knob, that's a you problem.

     @deprecated_ii @WashedOutGundamPilot Perused some job market misery porn videos earlier this year, one I remember was a podcast interview format with the host suggesting that a caller build up their own apps, get a sizable userbase and then offer that up to prospective employers. It's the sort of thing that sounds like it could work, but sounds dangerously close to "build your own business and then sell it off for a shot at an entry-level job".
