   In fairness, those “nameless” chinese cities are the very ones actually MAKING the shit from the american brands.

   Also I think Apple is technically an “irish” company, who just outsources production to Foxconn in china and engineering to specialists for the overall elements needed for their dream product. Basically just a design studio.

     Seems like I’m always having to explain to well meaning olds that they aren’t exactly holding up american workers when they buy from “American” auto manufacturers.

     Ford? Mexico built. Dodge? Mexico/Canada

     At least the japs were strongarmed into american production. Good chance that honda accord comes from ohio

     Some German car manufacturers also build in the US. In the South, usually.

     this reminds me, most "boutique" "American" guitar pedals are almost entirely assembled from components made by Behringer in China, and pedals made with the same parts in China often cost less than a tenth of the price.

     Most music stuff is a joke, particularly electronics. For a while Mexi strats had better paintwork than the domestic “custom shop” ones, because they had new kids on the job instead of languid old boomers begrudgingly shitting out $5,000 versions of the same thing.

     I hate the whole electronics scene, particularly for guy stuff. I can’t stand listening to retard tactical gurus demanding I pay $500 for an “AMERICAN” device when it’s got the same imported chink guts as any other, just wrapped in domestic shells.

     Fun Fact: The car part factory I used to work at in 00' Germany was closed down and moved to Hungary.
     
     Looking back, I probably should have followed...
