     @alan Not to mention, as if I would care enough about some silly instance blocking mine to set up multiple instances. They really must think rather highly of themselves. I apparently had two followers from there who have now (perhaps sadly) been blocked along with their instance. Something tells me I’ll live with the loss.

     I am having a really hard time with all the Fediblock posts that amount to "This server allows rhetoric that I personally find slightly exaggerated, so no one on anyone's server should ever have access to anyone on theirs ever again." Block everyone for any reason! Defederate according to your own server's rules, all you want! But demanding a unified defederation by everyone on a hashtag most of us trust to keep pedophiles/genociders/scammers from getting to our people...?

     All that is to say, I support you. There is nothing wrong with your post. The Fediblock hashtag is becoming unreliable for admins and that is going to be a massive problem for everyone here.

     I mean, I’ve never seen you call anyone a Nazi who isn’t actually a fucking Nazi, or a Nazi sympathizer, which makes them a Nazi.

     So yeah, I blocked these assholes. Life is too short to be as unserious as they are about something as deadly as #fascism.

     @ryanrandall It’s not just an ideologically and materially compromised platform, it is one that is run by fascist billionaire who sees all conversations, including DMs, controls an algorithmic timeline and is implementing a governance mechanism where him and other fascists decide whose voices are heard and amplified on the platform. It is the opposite of a safe space, especially for marginalised communities.

     @jeena I don’t agree that it is: there is a real need for instances to coordinate so they can block servers that host CSAM, Nazis/fascists, etc.

     But having it (ab)used to try to get fediverse-wide blocks of people you seem to hold personal grievances about (likely because they called you out on your shit at some point) needs to be challenged if you don’t want it to turn into a censorship machine for some clique or other.
