The average military advertisement in the 80s promised young men they could honor their fathers alongside noble warriors, in 2010 they promised you gubmint bennies and a real life CoD adventure. The last generation of good guys to serve in the military were the ones that joined in response to 9/11. And Yankee military officers have always been a bunch of deranged sex perverts

     special operations means a lot of money flying around and not that much oversight. you have to rigidly control for ethics and character if you want to avoid this, but lol
