@Rasterman it's weird, nintendo used to be the authistic kid that just focuses on its bing bing wahoo games on the corner while soyny and microcock were being the "vanguard" of gaming.
now nintendo is the guy up top while soyny has become a figurative troon that's still jerking off to "muh graphic fidelity"
@Rasterman the ps5 barely has games, i'd say sony's just showing up out of formality and because there are retards willing to give em money its mainly microcock and queertendo
@ChristiJunior@EvilSandmich@rlier23 >the Switch is more than 6 years old and has yet to get a price cut, despite production costs presumably having been lowered)
@ChristiJunior@rlier23@Rasterman I've always heard that the secret sauce at Nintendo is that they make money on hardware sales (whereas the others sell their hardware as loss leaders for licensing). It's easy to stay in the game when they're not losing money on every sale.
@EvilSandmich@Rasterman@rlier23 They did do that for a long time, the N64 was certainly profitable, hell, I remember hearing that it was actually more profitable than the PS1 despite being massively outsold by it, but then again, that might solely be in terms of hardware sales.
I do think the Wii U was sold at a loss tho, as well as the Switch initially (though probably not anymore, given how the Switch is more than 6 years old and has yet to get a price cut, despite production costs presumably having been lowered).
@rlier23@Rasterman Nintendo was pretty much always putting out superb first party games tho, in between the game droughts. The GameCube was a commercial failure, but still delivered games like Metroid Prime and Paper Mario: TTYD. The Wii was considered the Lol Casuals console, but still had games like Mario Galaxy, Xenoblade, Zelda Skyward Sword etc. It's just that during the Switch years they're actually getting some credit for it, and they no longer suffer from those nasty game droughts.
@apropos@ChristiJunior@Rasterman@EvilSandmich wait now that i think about it i have seen the switch price go down here how much does it cost over there? in here i see it more commonly around 1600mxm
