     I can't find it now but there was a psych study done to reduce peoples' phobia using exposure via media, mainly tv. Apparently it lessened people with these intense phobias considerably >50% I think.

     @blaaablaaaa @caekislove @Jens_Rasmussen Media is basically a simulator to retrain the feeble minded into accepting social patterns as truth. The weak, oafish father, genius daughter, cool, trustworthy black, the motley but safely diverse neighborhood all act as practice runs to convince tards that even if THEY don’t see that IRL it’s common right outside their field of view.

     Exactly, it programs them into believing that is reality. In some places maybe there are bits and pieces but they're programmed to think that's the norm. It's probably why there is so much dissonance with people because decades of tv watching have them believing in a reality that doesn't match up with what they see on a weekly basis.
